A hexagonal cathedral lantern with cut tracery windows, lit from within by an electric tea light. Small enough for a shelf, a mantel or a bedside table, and the open stonework throws patterned light onto the wall behind it.

Halloween in October, gothic the rest of the year. Lit in a dark room it reads haunted chapel, which is exactly what you want on a Halloween mantel, and it is not so costumed that it has to go back in a box on November 1. It sits just as well in a witchy, whimsigoth or dark academia room in February.

About 6 3/4 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches across at the widest point of the base. Both tops come out to the same height.

An LED tea light is included, batteries and all. Switch it on, set it in the base, and the lantern is lit the moment it comes out of the box.

Three things to choose.

Finish. Black Gloss, Black Matte, or White Stone. The two blacks read gothic and disappear into a dark room until you light them. The White Stone reads carved cathedral and suits a lighter space.

Window. Gold, Blue, Red, Green or Grey translucent panels, all set behind the same pointed-arch tracery. Gold glows closest to real candlelight and is the one to pick if you want warmth. Red and Blue are the moodiest. Orange Lattice is the odd one out. It is a different window entirely, a woven lattice rather than pointed arches, so it throws a criss-cross pattern instead of tall arched shapes, in a warm autumn orange. Pick it if you want the light itself to look different, not just a different color.

Top. A hanging ring or a spire finial. The ring lets you hang it from a hook or stand it on a surface; the spire is for standing.

Electric tea lights only. Never an open flame. This is 3D printed plastic, and plastic softens with heat. A real candle will deform it and is a genuine fire hazard. When the included light eventually dies, any standard electric tea light up to 40mm across and 17 to 27mm tall will drop straight in.

The parts snap together by hand. No tools, no screws, no glue. It makes a good gothic or Halloween gift for someone whose taste runs darker than the seasonal aisle at the craft store.

Made to order on the west side of Indianapolis, and shipped in 3 to 5 business days. Each one is printed for your order rather than pulled off a shelf, so the color combination you choose is the one that gets made.
